Inspired by equal parts Afrobeat, Jazz, Gospel, and Hip-Hop their lively mix of horns, keys, vocals, and drums brings emotions and rhythms to the hearts and ears of listeners. Led by the enigmatic drummer and producer Charles Haynes, the Tabernacle's sound flows from the African diaspora in search of fresh sounds in the contemporary music landscape.

Haynes has worked across genres and disciplines, as music director, producer, composer, arranger, and drummer for legends including Ed Sheeran, Queen Latifah, Lady Gaga, and Kanye West as well as collaborations with Jazz icons Kenny Garrett, Shedrick Mitchell, Keyon Harold, Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, and Samara Joy.
